I was inspired by Pastor Brenda’s teaching today on Acts chapter 2. One focal point of the teaching was the power that is found in being in unity and one accord. When we walk in unity and set our expectation upon the Lord, the power of God is manifested in our lives through the Holy Spirit.
Philippians 2:1-5: If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
“Satan is after the body of Christ, maybe more than ever before. He’s got to divide us and isolate us from one another to prevent us from being in one accord with one another. Avoid and resist the temptation of isolation. It seems that when someone offends, disappoints, or lets you down, or when you see them in sin, the human reaction is to avoid them. That’s exactly what Satan wants to accomplish, but he has no power over the body of Christ, because Jesus defeated him.
If Satan can get the believer, or the church, in strife or discord, he will hinder us in our mission of getting the gospel out to the entire world. We need each other in the body of Christ. Everyone has a part to play. There’s not one person more important than another person, as we read in the following scriptures: 1 Corinthians 12:12: For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body…"
Be Faithful to Pray for Unity & One Accord As you and I pray the Holy Spirit-inspired prayers we have in Ephesians on a daily basis, it will give God something to work with on behalf of the body of Christ."
Please commit to praying daily for our church family & the body of Christ to walk in unity and one accord. It’s time for the sons of God to come forth!!
This is a powerful teaching and is so true. We must commit and be consistent in a Holy Spirit led prayer life! It’s necessary in this hour and we must not waiver. We all have a vital part to attend to and must be present for the greater cause…making God clear and visible to the world!!!
